of something in the future that will be fabulous. I have never cooked corned beef in the oven. I have cooked a brisket like this once in the crock pot by itself for 12 hrs on low and it was wonderful. I got some cabbage and potatoes with corned beef brisket-I took the little pack of seasonings out of it's plastic pouch and placed in the cheese cloth. I love these seasonings but I hate to bite into them. I only added 1/4 cup water(cause I figured everything else in here especially the cabbage already has lots water) This is being cooked in a covered roaster in the oven for 3 hrs at 250 F. If anyone has cooked this before and sees any mistakes I have made so far...feel free to comment. I did put Kosher salt on the cabbage and taters-none on the brisket. Note:next time add 3 cups water or beer-at 250 F for 2 hrs dish looked as if if needed more liquid. I may try this again with the Irish Stout(that I will be making)
Texas Style Beef Stew
3 pounds Cubed Braised Chuck Steak
1 29 oz. can Tomato Paste
1 15 oz can French Style Green Beans
1 15 oz can Pinto Beans
1 15 oz can Cream Style Corn
6 medium Red Potatoes, diced
6 medium Carrots, peeled and sliced
3 diced Roma Tomatoes
1 medium Yellow Onion, sliced and quartered
season to taste with white pepper, black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic salt and salt.
Place ingredients in 6 quart crock pot and cook on high until it begins to boil around edges, then turn to low for 4-5 hours, or until meat is tender.
Serve with crackers and a cold tasty beverage.
